About Viking Print
Established in 1988 in the northern suburbs of Cape Town, Viking Print was a small print shop mostly catering for passing trade. In 2007, Dudley and his wife, Theresa Williams, purchased Viking Print and amalgamated it with Print Right, another small print shop they owned.
After purchasing Viking Print, they immediately moved the business in larger premises situated in Ottery. Soon after, their daughters both joined the company, Janice to manage the accounts and Deidre, to assist Dudley with estimating and production followed by their son Andre a few years later. Collectively, the family owned and managed business, has well over 100 years of experience in the printing industry.
Since 2007 Viking Print has grown at a phenomenal rate, in terms of size, staff and printing services. The staff complement has grown to 22 full time employees, including Dudley and his wife, Theresa, who represent senior management.
At Viking Print a complete service is offered to the client, from concept to completion.
Graphic design services are available in-house, however, most clients prefer arranging their artwork with a designer of their own choice. Viking Print has at its disposal a broad array of printing presses: single colour machines capable of printing, numbering and perforating simultaneously, two 5 colour Heidelberg Speedmasters 74 with inline coating. They also have A3 letterpress facilities which is mainly used for die-cutting. Most finishing is done in house also as Viking Print has its own guillotines, folding machines and a 6 station gang stitcher fitted with a cover feeder and a 3 knife trimmer. All in all, clients benefit immensely from cost effective pricing as all their regularly serviced machines run at very competitive hourly rates.
It sounds very cliché, but affordable, high quality printing work with a efficient service enjoys top priority at Viking Print. The success of this motto can be attributed to the dedicated, loyal and extremely competent staff, who take personal pride in the work they produce. Even amongst other printers on Cape Town, the Vikings have built themselves a reputation of being able to complete an order in record time without sacrificing on quality. As a result many larger printing firms in Cape Town frequently send print orders to Viking Print when their own plants are unable to meet a deadline.
While offering good pricing and quick turnaround times is important, the quality of the work produced is equally vital to the continued success and growth of the company as it might easily be assumed that low prices would imply sacrificing quality. Letters of commendation from clients are available on request to bear testimony of the fact that this is not the case.
